Visit the Valley
Buried deep within Northern California’s coastal redwood groves, Anderson Valley provides a beautiful setting with lush greenery that is ideal for wineries and the Anderson Valley Brewery. In times past, Mendocino County’s Anderson Valley was a remote logging and sheep ranching center. Hard working men and women elbowed up to a neighborly bar for a cold brew after a days work. All was a slow lope’n a beeson tree in this isolated, rustic community.
Anderson Valley is home to Boontling, the peculiar dialect still spoken here. The curious phrase in the last paragraph is a small example of Boontling, but for those who’d like more, Check out the Brightlighter’s Jonnem, a short story written in Boontling, with it’s English translation.
If you’re in Northern California or just looking for a getaway vacation, Boonville is the place. The people, scenery, wineries, beers, and lodging can’t be beat. Find us on the map. You can also check out the local links for interesting things to do here, or for more info about the area.
