The founder and former president of AVBC, Dr. Kenneth Allen’s 14 year commitment to support the rural Mendocino County community has resulted in donations totaling over $560,000 to their neighbors since 2003, through the Legendary Boonville Beer Festival held each May.

Mr. Trey White, Anderson Valley Brewing Company’s new owner and President will continue to support this annual fundraising event. “As the new person in the Valley, it has been a pleasure to observe how the folks in the Valley are able to pull together to put on a truly unique event. An event which not only provides entertainment for thousands and provides participants with the opportunity to consume a wide variety of world-class beer but more importantly creates a tremendous source of greatly needed funding for a our local community during these challenging times. The folks of Anderson Valley should be proud and the festival attendees commended for their participation in such a wonderful event.”

This year the funds went to the Anderson Valley (AV) Lions Club, Parent Teachers Association, Elderhome, Education Foundation, Sports Boosters, Animal Rescue, Senior Center, Historical Society, AV Fire Department, Volunteer Firefighters Assoc, AV Ambulance, AV Sheriff K-9, Kimmies, Navarro River Resource, AV Land Trust, AV Health Center, AV Housing Authority, Tapestry and the Mendocino County Fairgrounds. Many of the grateful recipients made note that their non-profit would not be in existence without the generosity of Anderson Valley Brewing Company.

The Legendary Boonville Beer Festival began in 1997, the inaugural event was such a success that the next year AVBC decided to invite other breweries and charge admission to raise profits for their community. AVBC invites breweries from all over the west to showcase their wares in a pleasant, festive, outdoor setting. The 14th Annual Legendary Boonville Beer Festival featured over 80 breweries and record attendance with 6,500 supporters despite the overall economy.

Mark your calendars for next years 15th Annual Legendary Boonville Beer Festival! The date is Saturday May 14th, 2011.

April 1, 2010, Boonville, CA – Anderson Valley Brewing Company Ready To Welcome Summer

Anderson Valley Brewing Company, the “Solar Powered Brewery®”, is delighted to celebrate the approach of summer with the release of Summer Solstice Cerveza Crema.

Known for award winning, balanced beers, AVBC Summer Solstice is brewed in tribute to the longer days of summer and the solar rays that fire the brew kettles at Anderson Valley Brewing Company. In the peak of summer, more than 40% of the brewery’s power needs are obtained from the sun.

A unique take on a summer beer, the Cerveza Crema stands out on a hot day for it’s copper color and silken, creamy texture. Summer Solstice pours a brilliant copper that captures the sunlight. A clean malt base balances a hint of cascade hops smooth creaminess. Weighing in at 5.0% ABV, Summer Solstice is a lightly hopped, sessionable beer as satisfying as the day is long.

Summer Solstice will be available April 1st in draft, 12oz. bottles, and now in 12oz. cans – for all those great summer getaways where you can’t or won’t take bottles.

April 1, 2010 Boonville, CA – Anderson Valley Brewing Company (“AVBC”) is excited to announce the release of world-famous, award-winning Boont Amber Ale packaged in cans. Known both for their award winning beers and commitment to green business practices, packaging in cans is another step towards reducing the overall environmental footprint. AVBC cans take on a new look for the brewery, but the beer inside is still the Legendary Boonville Beer.

Cans require less energy to ship and use more recycled and less virgin materials than glass. Cans can be recycled many times in their lifetime. Cans get colder quicker, are lighter to carry, and crush easily to be packed in and out of the wilderness. The 6-pack holder is recyclable and made in the USA. Cans are better for the beer as well. Even brown glass allows light to penetrate and with a larger volume of headspace, these two factors will speed up oxidation. Cans allow zero light, and have less headspace. Think of a can as a keg in your hand.

Boont Amber Ale is a medium bodied pale ale with a beautiful copper color, a robust head, and the rich flavor of caramel malt. At 5.8% ABV and 15 IBU, this very smooth and exceptionally drinkable beer is excellent with steaks, chicken, pasta, and other flavorful meals.

Boont Amber Ale is a Silver Medal award winning beer from the Great American Beer Festival, in the American-Style Amber/Red Ale category and was named the “best beer brewed in Northern California,” by the San Francisco Bay Guardian.

As with all of our products, Boont Amber Ale is never sterile filtered nor heat pasteurized, and should be stored in refrigeration. However, to fully enjoy its rich and complex flavor, it should be served between 40° and 45°F

Boonville, CA March 16, 2010
HMB Holdings and the Anderson Valley Brewing Company in Boonville, CA today announced a definitive purchase agreement by which HMB Holdings, LLC will acquire the Anderson Valley Brewery. Terms of the transaction are undisclosed. Pending appropriate regulatory approvals, the deal will close in April, 2010.
Under the leadership of respected industry pioneer Ken Allen, Anderson Valley Brewery has been creating award winning craft beers in Boonville, CA since 1987.

HMB Holdings LLC is owned and managed by Trey White, a fifteen year veteran of the alcoholic beverage industry. Through his role as executive vice-president at United States Beverage, Mr. White worked with a variety of fast growing successful American craft beers including Goose Island, Rogue, Ipswich and SLO as well as selected imports including Grolsch from Holland. HMB will retain the current brewing and production facilities at Anderson Valley Brewery while expanding the sales and marketing capabilities.
“Ken Allen is a true leader within the American craft beer industry,” says Mr. White “The beers created by Anderson Valley are amongst the premier craft beers available in the world. Ken’s high-quality craftsmanship combined with his respect for the environment is a legacy we will respect and uphold. HMB is thrilled with the opportunity to grow consumer awareness and expand the distribution of the Anderson Valley family of world class award winning craft beers.”

Ken Allen says: “I have enjoyed immensely growing the Anderson Valley Brewery from a start-up operating a modest brew pub in Boonville into a world class regional craft brewery. The people and friends I have made in the industry will last a lifetime. I want to thank the many customers and brewery fans who have become key parts of the Anderson Valley Brewery family.

I have looked long and hard for the right person to whom to entrust our legacy and I could not have found a better partner in Trey White. His passion and knowledge of the craft beer industry, coupled with his respect for the brands we have developed, will make him the ideal person to take the Anderson Valley Brewery to the next level within the growing craft beer industry.“

Located in the bucolic Anderson Valley region, the environmentally friendly, solar powered brewery produces Boont Amber Ale and Hop Ottin’ IPA in addition to many other highly respected craft beers. Ken Allen was awarded the craft industry’s prestigious Small Brewer Association Recognition award last year for his decades of service to the craft beer industry.

HMB Holdings, LLC is a new company devoted to bringing hand-crafted, small batch produced beer to as many American consumers as possible.

February 15, 2010 Boonville, CA – Anderson Valley Brewing Company is proud to announce the release of its award-winning Deep Enders Dark Porter beer It will be available in draught and 22 ounce packages. This limited production, special seasonal ale was originally brewed and released in the fall but starting in 2009 is now being released in February. What was once a dying beer style in England has been revived as an American classic. The Deep End is the Boontling name for Navarro – a town in the Anderson Valley, deep in the dark redwoods. Inspired by its namesake, Deep Enders Dark Porter is a full-bodied porter with a rich creamy head, delicious chocolaty aftertaste and a roasted coffee character. A pleasantly bitter brew, Deep Enders is excellent with oysters and other shellfish, smoked duck, and Chateaubriand, as well as your favorite chocolate desserts or with full-flavored meals and spicy dishes.
As with all AVBC products, Deep Enders Dark Porter is never sterile filtered nor heat pasteurized, and should be stored in refrigeration. However, to fully enjoy its rich and complex flavor, it should be served between 40° and 45°F. Anderson Valley Brewing Company has been crafting award-winning beers for over two decades in the town of Boonville, CA, which is located in the picturesque Anderson Valley of Mendocino County.

February 1, 2010 Boonville, CA – Anderson Valley Brewing Company (“AVBC”) announces the release of its Anniversary Imperial IPA.
Originally created to celebrate the brewery’s 20th anniversary in 2007, this limited release, special brew, with its intense and complex flavors, is the proud result of decades of great beer-making, and comes in bottles printed with a unique, colorful sunrise label.
This 8.7% ABV, extremely hopped beer has been a cult favorite for those with extreme tastes, yet more balanced sensibilities. AVBC Director of Brewing Operations, David Gatlin says “This Imperial IPA is balanced and possesses a high degree of drinkability. Possibly too high.” The Anniversary Imperial IPA will be available for very limited release February 1, 2010 in 22oz. bottles and draft. It is the beer that the late William Brand declared “Damn, it was a mind blower. The kind of beer that made California craft beer famous.”

Anderson Valley Brewing Company is located in Boonville, CA, in scenic Mendocino County. AVBC opened the doors to its brew pub in late 1987. They carefully craft their world-class ales using only the finest ingredients premium malted and roasted grains, hops, yeast, and pristine Boonville water straight from their own aquifer. AVBC never heat pasteurizes or sterile filters their beers. AVBC has won over 90 awards for quality and distinction and is the first 18-hole disc golf course with a craft brewery attached.
