Hop Ottin’ IPA is as hoppy as they come. The name means “hard working hops,” in Boontling, and that tells it all. Generous additions of high-alpha Pacific Northwest hops added during a vigorous boil, plus traditional dry hopping, with whole hop cones, give this ale a delicious citrus aroma, and an intense hoppy bite. This IPA is a hop lover’s dream.
Hop Ottin’ IPA received a Silver Medal from the 2001 World Beer Championships, in the India Pale Ale category, and has several other medals as well. Click here to see the entire list.
As with all of our products, Hop Ottin’ IPA is never sterile filtered nor heat pasteurized, and should be stored in refrigeration. However, to fully enjoy its rich and complex flavor, it should be served between 40° and 45°F.

The only way I can explain this IPA is “OMG”!!!
This IPA has the best balanace of flavors of any IPA I have EVER had! If you love HOPS this is the Beer for you.

Hands down, Hop Ottin’ IPA is my favorite American IPA. So much so, that I had to put it on tap at the bar I manage in Philadelphia. Now I get to drink it every day. Keep it coming AVBC!

The first time I tried this great IPA was on the top of Crystal Mountain, Washington. My dad and I went in to the lodge for lunch, sitting near a window over looking the beautiful scenery that Washington has to offer. The hop ottin IPA was the perfect bittering, yet ever so palate agreeing resfreshment that gave me rejuvenation for the slopes.

Very nice!! I just finished a Hop Ottin’ IPA, and it was excellent. They just started carrying these in a Whole Foods near home. I will go back every week and grab another 6. Big hops, great finish, this one rocks for sure.

Kickin’ back under my patio umbrella…the SF South Bay Area breeze…reading the June/July edition of Celebrator I picked up from San Diego last weekend…and a cold bottle of Hop Ottin’…LIFE IS GOOD.

I wanted to thank you for brewing the BEST IPA I have ever had!! I whip up a batch of homebrew once a month, and I thought my stuff was the best, but your beer rocks! It has me distracted at work..all I think about is getting home to that cold IPA. I used to kiss my wife the first thing when I got home from work, but now I’m suckin’ face with one of your beers before I even get into the house (my beer refrigerator is in the garage). I ‘ve never asked anyone to do anything for me, but I’m asking you to brew more of this beer….for me. Don’t change a thing!! Just promise me that you’ll doit for me!!

I am from the Pacific NW (the land of micro brew). I love my IPA’s! I was traveling in the Seattle area lately on business, and stumbled accross a six pack of your Hop Ottin’ IPA. I have to tell you that it was love at first taste! The best IPA I have tasted!

I’ll never forget my first taste of your IPA at the Oregon Brewers Festival. It was, and is, the most amazing beer I’ve ever had! At first, the 92 IBU’s took me by surprise, but now I can’t live without that wonderful hop overload. Before that, your ESB was my favorite beer, but now your IPA is always on hand. I just wish I could come to Boonville more often and enjoy it straight from the source–now that’s heaven!

While on business in Los Angeles I happened upon your fantastic IPA. With its outstanding deep-hop flavor, rich color and tangy nose, this IPA has instantly become my favorite. There is no doubt that whenever it comes to purchasing beer, I will look for your Hop Ottin’ IPA first!

I confess, I am a total hop head. The more hops, the better. I’ve tasted many great IPA’s, but Hop Ottin’ remains my all-time favorite. This beer is perfect in every way.

I have enjoyed IPA since studying in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1988. Your IPA is the simply the best beer of this style I have tasted. High alcohol and hoppy. True to style.

I am a long time IPA fan. I have enjoyed dozens upon dozens of brands and styles. Most recently, my favorite has been the Lagunitas. No More!! Hop Ottin’ IPA is outstanding. A brilliant balance between hoppiness and smooth, rich flavor. Kudos to you all for a brilliant brew!

Just wanted to let you know that I am a home brewer, and a true fan of good beer. I have been on a journey to find the perfect I.P.A.. I found it , and you make it. While it’s true that I am a true hop head, and your Hop Ottin’ my be a bit hoppy for some, I find the hops to be in perfect balance with the malt.— DON’T CHANGE A THING. I will be looking forward to trying ALL your beers. Thanks again for making a wonderful beer.

My Boyfriend, my father and I get together every Wendnesday night and decompress and drink some good beer and talk about life. We had a favorite for a long time and then tried Hop Ottin’ IPA. We all had that suprised, thrilled look on our faces upon first sips of Hop Ottin’. Hop heads to the max, we are hooked and those little soldiers stand at attention in the frige waiting to please our hoppy desires at all times. THANK YOU!

WOW! Thousands of years of beer-making have culminated in Hop Ottin’ IPA. My only fear is that the art has peaked. Please change nothing about this beer. It is absolutely perfect from the wonderfully floral flavor/nose up front to the big biG bIG BIG hop bite in the middle to the delightful malty finish. Thank you, thank you.

This is the best IPA I have ever tasted. You have spared no expense in this brew. I live in Oklahoma and do not have access to your fine beverage. I do drink it every chance I get when I am not in the bible belt. I do homebrew however, and was wondering if you might have a hint of how to make a five gallon extract batch in the basement. I know it won’t be the same, but maybe close. Thanks.

At every sunrise I bow towards Anderson Valley praising the Gods for endowing us all with Hop Ottin’. Finally, evening arrives and the freezer delivers a frosted pint-sized vessel into which the enchanted contents swirl, lingering a brief moment, before a burst of hop-ladened nectar washes over my beckoning lips.
Ahh, the alpha-aroma yeilds to a deliciously crisp, alluring bite that sirens another amber wave of effervescent ecstasy. Like Centaur amidst a bevy of nymphs in an enchanted forest pool, a chorus of hop-crazed tastebuds gloriously squeal their unmitigated approval. My Herculean search is over, in my hand the Holy Grail,I am in love through all eternity!
Alas, though euphoric, I am slayed by the inevitability of yet another finished glass….

This is the most intense beer I have ever consumed. The HOPS are unlike any other beer; it is incredible. I work at a liquor store with a HUGE beer selection, not to mention living in town specializing in Micro Brews: Fort Collins, CO.
I have been impressed with other Anderson Valley brews, but this IPA is a must drink! It’s SOOO big, and should be tried by HOP HEADS and non-HOP HEADS, alike.
I love it and will continue to recommend this IPA to anyone and everyone who DARES to try it.

Congratulations! You have made the perfect IPA! The Northwest Hops, with their bossy apricot bouquet, the exquisite malty palate: an authoritative and powerful but very drinkable IPA! I have been searching for a bottled source of the perfect IPA since I tasted Chukar Ale only available on draft from The Firehouse microbrewery in Rapid City, SD, and you have matched it! Thanks!

I was first introduced to your beer while working at a brewery in the San Juoquin valley. My first was Barney Flats, at the time stouts were my drink of choice, and yours knocked my socks off. Not long after I noticed a shift in my palate and began drinking more IPAs. While working at Trader Joe’s in Pacific Grove I almost wet my pants with excitement when i saw the pallats full of Anderson Valley Brewing Co. cases. I bought close to a case of the Hop Ottin’ and again experienced my socks being knocked off!!! Never before and not since have I experienced an IPA with such bold hops and maintain a nice body for a smooth introduction and sharp finish. A true complexity in flavor, not only is it a great drinking beer, but I have found it wonderful for beeer batters and meat marinade!!!!! !
My hat’s off to you folks in Anderson Valley Brew Co. Keep doing what you are doing, please, please, please do not change your brewing style for greater production (like some CA. micro-breweries have done) because your loyal fans will be here looking for this same quality beer crafting that is so rare.

I would consider myself to be an IPA aficionado. I have brewed for years, usually only brewing IPA’s (and winning contests with them I might humbly add). Living in Seattle I usually just fill up my growler with some delicious local IPA’s. The Hop Ottin’ has got quite a spell on me though. I find myself stopping at the local grocery and picking up a six and leaving the growler at home. The beer is huge. This IS what an IPA should be. You guys have given hopheads a reason to exist. This ipa has got to be one of the best beers i’ve tasted in the last year. I work at Trader Joes and i write the beer order there. AS soon as Little Guy [Distributing] got into our stores your IPA has been flying off of our shelves. Out of what we carry i recommend your IPA over anything else that we carry. Nice hoppy finish and just an overall great product. Great Job!!! WE want the Winter Solstice!!

As a connoissuer of hopped, malted and fermented beverages, I like to try and evaluate beers with an open, yet discriminating palate. Never have I tasted an IPA which couples its hoppy bite with such delicious floral undertones. A true pleasure for those who appreciate good beer.

I’m happy to have discovered your beers. The Hop Ottin’ IPA is an excellently crafted beer with the right amount of hops. Clean tasting and aromatic, it is equally good on its own or paired with food. The quality of this beer holds its own with any IPA-style beer, and I’m hard pressed to find an equal. Keep up the good work. I’m looking forward to my next Hop Ottin’ IPA.

This is a great beer, I would imagine that dwarves in the Lord of The Rings or the Hobbit drink beer of this quality – the taste is unreal, it’s great!!, it’s how beer should taste but usually doesn’t. This is like a perfect beer, the beer of beers!!!! It’s a beer’s beer!! :-) Brew on!

Gents, Your brews are exteme, like my taste. Our local skiing club frequents the Rockies, and I was lucky enough to find one of your excellent brews after a hard day of challenging the slops, and was instantly in love. That was years ago, and I’m now the President of our local Homebrew club. One of our members brought your Oatmeal Stout to a meeting, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for keeping up the greatness of American Ales. I’m convinced we now lead the world in great beer. Your IPA is right up front, too.

Some things never change. I hope Hop Ottin’ IPA is one of those things. Your beer has made my taste buds completely addicted to that sweet, hoppy elixir. Good IPA is hard to find. As a long time lover of India Pale Ales (Starting in the 60’s with Ballantine) I have lived all over the U.S. and sampled many different brands and styles. I can honestly say I would almost prefer not to have any if I can’t get Hop Ottin, what’s the sense I know I won’t be satisfied and most likely let down. But Yours is like a cleansing, thirstquenching pure pleasurable experience. Keep up the excellent Brewing practice.

I was having a bad day yesterday and I ran by New World Wine Co, here in Milwaukee and the sales person recommended this as a good IPA. Well Hop Ottin’ as a good IPA was the understatement of the week – it was freakin’ fantastic. Besides being blasted with a powerfuly aromatic hop nose, I got a bite on my tounge from all of the pungent hop flavor that is both bold and balanced. This is the best IPA. Well done!

After years of extensive research and IPA’s aplenty: without a doubt your Hop Ottin’ is the bahlest steinber on the planet. My apple-head and I enjoy bahl hornin’, bahl chiggrul and bahl burlap on a daily basis and life would not be the same without it. You have acheived the paramount of IPA’S and we cannot possibly express our appreciation to any further degree.

The Hop Ottin’ IPA is an awe inspiring ale that never fails to impart a sense of well being. Quality of life is now measured by how close my lips are to this hop-laden elixir. Your beers are hard to get in Florida, but I will always have at least one on hand to complete proceedings should the reaper approach.

I have been a consumer of Fine Micro Brew for some years now. One day in 1990,I stopped at a small brewery in Sacramento, CA and experienced for the first time IPA. I have sampled every IPA that I’ve layed my eyes on ever since. Then, it happened! I spied your offering at the local BEVERAGES only shop where I frequent. I have always known that the India style of ale was what The Gods had in mind, but…. Not just sippin germs!!! Long may you brew Liquid of life. Also,I have had a love affair with you Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout for years, and as an amature home brewer have tried to reproduce that remarkable brew at home, but… you have no worries!
